The role of components in the life of plants

Silicon maintains water balance of plants, improves the efficiency of photosynthesis, facilitates vertical leaves allocation, reduces the evaporation of moisture from the leaf surface. Optimal silicon plant nutrition contributes to more economical consumption of water by the plant for organic matter synthesis (reduction of transpiration coefficient).

Potassium is associated with amino acids and protein metabolism, affects the formation of carbohydrates during photosynthesis, increases assimiliant transportation. It also accelerates the formation of sugars and their relocation through the tissues. Increases resistance to drought, frost and diseases.

Lack of silicon leads to disruption of growth, development and reproductive function in many plants. In particular, grain crops with low supply of silicon are more prone to lodging.

Potassium deficiency affects primarily development of reproductive organs. Delayed development of embryos seeds, and the resulting seed is characterized by poor quality indicators. With a lack of potassium cells grow unevenly, which causes corrugated and dome shaped leaves.

Advantages

The reasonable combination of elements such as silicon and potassium, helps to improve the exposure of the leaf to the light, contributes to the accumulation of sugars in the plant, increases resistance to lodging, improves transport functions in plants, reduces susceptibility to opportunistic infections and root pests, increases resistance to abiotic stresses (contamination by heavy metals, salinity soils, drought, high and low temperatures, UV radiation and etc.).
