Magnesium in plants life
Magnesium affects all processes in plant cells, where transfer of chemical energy and its accumulation (photosynthesis, respiration, glycolysis etc.) take place. Together with calcium, magnesium participates in construction of pectin substances of cell walls. More than 300 enzymes are activated by magnesium due to its specific binding into complexes. Magnesium also positively affects transfer and absorption of phosphorus.
Symptoms of magnesium deficiency are especially visible on light soils. These include chlorosis of old leaves, which harden and become brittle, prematurely wither and fall off. Acute magnesium deficiency causes «marbling» of leaves. It is essential for cultures, which brought considerable amounts of magnesium from the soil: sugar beets, grapes, potatoes and protected ground crops.
Advantages
Foliar application of Micro-Міneralis (Magnesium) microfertilizer helps to:
- significantly improve resistance of plants to adverse weather conditions;
- improve processes of photosynthesis and respiration of plants;
- increase resistance and immunity of plants.
