Copper in plants life

Copper is one of enzymes and is involved in redox transformations, about 50% of it is contained in chloroplasts. Deficiency of copper leads to cell membranes’ lignification reduces intensity of respiration and photosynthesis. Symptoms of copper deficiency are manifested mainly on peat lands and acidic sandy soils. Symptoms of  grain crops’ disease are: whitening and drying of sheet plate tips. Strong deficit of copper leads to intensive tillering of plants, prevents earing, and causes gradually drying up of all stem. Horticultural crops under lack of copper suffer from eczema.

Among plant, most sensitive to deficit of copper are: wheat, barley, oats, flax, corn, carrots, beets, onions, spinach, lucerne, cabbage, potatoes.

Advantages

Foliar fertilizing with Micro-Mineralis (Copper) microfertilizer:

  • increases resistance of plants to fungal and bacterial diseases;
  • reduces exposure of grain crops to various kinds of smut diseases;
  • increases plants resistance to brown spot;
  • increases content of hydrophilic colloid, that is most effective in dry and hot summer.
